Gordon Mercer and His Daughter Volunteer at Richmond Animal League

Vice President Gordon Mercer and his daughter Hannah have been volunteers at the Richmond Animal League (RAL) for the past two years. RAL is Richmond’s oldest non-profit, no-kill humane society. Gordon and Hannah walk dogs, clean kennels, and occasionally provide a foster home for puppies or dogs.

"Our whole family are animal lovers (especially dogs)," said Gordon. "It is very rewarding to get to know many of the animals at the shelter and to see them find a ’forever home.’ We have had over 370 animals adopted so far this year."
