Technical Business Analyst

Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a Technical Business Analyst with our credit-based financial software products that run on multiple platforms. This position will be responsible for supporting client testing and validation phases during product implementations. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in loan operations, fintech, financial applications, finance or banking.


  • Become an expert in Shaw Systems software products and the process of configuring them to meet the client’s needs
  • Responsible for reviewing Business Requirements Document and producing a Clarification/GAP document to call out points of clarity, missing requirements or recommended changes based on expertise in the system and understanding of the business need
  • Analyzes, documents and guides client validation processes
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to examine Java and SSIS formats for purposes of data integration
  • Provide high level technical analysis and comparison of data from different sources
  • Design and implement test analytics to support data conversion
  • Support data conversion test cycles, and assist with issue resolution
  • Communicate with customer SMEs to provide technical expertise in support of validation process
  • Responsible for requirements gathering, BRDs on a regular basis


  • Minimum of three to five years experience as a technical BSA
  • At least three years of experience with Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Systems Analysis Requirements Gathering and Documentation
  • Ability to perform complex data mappings and integrations
  • Proven knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services, T-SQL
  • Demonstrable skill in developing complex SQL queries, scripts, views, and stored procedures
  • Knowledge and experience working with interfaces
  • Testing/QA experience may be helpful
  • Should have the ability to analyze and resolve issues independently
  • Able to ‘think outside the box’
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Willing to travel to client sites as necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree, or four years of related work experience may substitute for Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a data science role
  • Proven experience developing, supporting and implementing SSIS or other ETL tools
  • Three to five years of experience in loan operations, fintech, financial applications, finance or banking
  • SSRS, PowerBI Report or MS Data Factory experience
  • Azure or AWS Cloud experience
