Cheryl Hood Joins Shaw to Lead Project Management Office
Cheryl Hood has joined Shaw Systems as Senior Project Manager of Shaw’s Project Management Office. Cheryl has a long history with Shaw Systems, first as a client, then as a Shaw Resource Solutions consultant.
Cheryl graduated with an accounting degree, obtained her CPA, and worked her way up from Internal Auditorto CFO of a $150 million dollar bank in western Kansas. Following the acquisition of that institution by Commerce Bank in Kansas City, she became Vice President and Manager of Commercial Loan Operations. During her tenure at Commerce, she was the business owner for key software integration projects, specifically working with COMMERCIAL and CREDITSTREAM. She also served as a member of the Shaw Executive Advisory Board for several years. After more than 11 years with Commerce, Cheryl joined Shaw Resource Solutions in August of 2013.
“I think you can sum up my Senior Project Manager role as ‘bringing a sense of urgency’ in response to the client’s needs,” says Cheryl. “For example, the current project for a COLLECTIONS client has many moving parts, and they need (1) a central location to search for information; and (2) a resource to help find answers. With my background in operations management, I am highly attuned to customer service and recognize that the first thing a client needs to know is that they’ve been heard. So response and follow-up are my first two priorities.”
“Another key responsibility is project oversight: ensuring that we’re responsive, on-schedule, and within budget on every client project,” says Cheryl.
“Cheryl brings with her a vast amount of organizational skills as well as practical experience that will undoubtedly help our clients as she works closely with Vice President and Manager of Applications and System Design Dennis Goforth to further establish our Project Management Office,” says Senior Operations Manager Chris Shaw.
