Norm Schow Receives the Silver Beaver Award From Boy Scouts of America
Norm Schow, Shaw’s Senior Business Systems Analyst for COMMERCIAL, is the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America. This award is given to recognize registered Scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service within a council. It is presented by the National Court of Honor on behalf of councils.
Norm says “I have been involved/registered in Scouting for over 35 years in one capacity or another. I’ve served as a Merit Badge Counselor for 18 different merit badges, COR, Asst. Scoutmaster, Asst. Varsity Coach, Scout Committee Chairman, Eagle Scout Mentor, Varsity Coach, and I’ve served at the District level over Varsity Scout Service and Special Programs and Events. I believe that I am receiving this award because of my love, support, and service to Boy Scouts of all ages over the years, and for the service rendered to our local community.”
About the Silver Beaver Award
The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a local council can present to an adult volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America. The award is presented to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program. Nominations are recommended by the local council and approved by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
On behalf of everyone at Shaw Systems, we’d like to recognize and congratulate Norm for receiving this award and for his outstanding service to the Boy Scouts of America over the years.
