Shaw Systems has received both the SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II certifications. In terms of security, this is a big deal. It takes a long time and a lot of work to get SOC certifications. To get these special certifications companies must submit to audits of security, processing, and information.
What is SOC?
System and Organization Controls (SOC) is a suite of service offerings CPAs may provide in connection with system-level controls of a service organization. SOC certification is an assurance about the controls at a service organization relevant to security, availability, and processing integrity of the systems used to process users' data. This also assures the confidentiality and privacy of the information processed on these systems. Shaw Systems is happy to be certified in both SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II to provide reassurance to our clients.
What is SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II?
SOC 1 Type II is a certification that is for service organizations that impact or may impact their clients' financial reporting. SOC 1 Type II certification verifies that Shaw has the proper internal controls and processes in place around security and availability. This helps to mitigate risk and ensure that our clients' data is highly secure.
SOC 2 Type II is a certification for service organizations that hold, store, or process client information. SOC 2 Type II certification demonstrates that an independent auditing firm has reviewed and examined our organization’s control objectives and activities, and tested those controls to ensure that we are operating effectively.
