Business Systems Analyst II

The Relationship Management Team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated BSA to join our Client Support Desk. As a Business Systems Analyst for Shaw Systems, you will have the autonomy to solve difficult business problems for our Spectrum Product. This position will be primarily responsible for providing technical and business support to clients, as well as troubleshooting software application issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience supporting customers in the financial industry. Specifically, operational experience in the banking or the auto finance industry is a huge plus!


  • Provide excellent support to our financial service industry clientele operating on our Java based, Spectrum Loan Servicing Product
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the business application(s), SMEs and technical teams to understand and resolve complex application software challenges
  • Ability to complete research and execute necessary testing in support of client inquires
  • Ability to manage workload and shift priorities as needed
  • Responsible for working directly with our B2B clients to identify solutions to complex issues or business challenges
  • Participate in testing system enhancements and assisting clients with implementing new business features
  • Act as subject matter expert on specific product components: fully understand the business use, challenges, and system configurations
  • Monitor / Track client requests until resolution and determine resulting impacts
  • Responsible for documenting detailed business requirements for new Client functionality and defect resolutions
  • Escalate to management all material risks and issues as they arise that can impact the Shaw’s standing with the Client
  • Ensure there are consistent and effective communications between the Clients requirements, and other Shaw Units as necessary to resolve the Client issues
  • Ability to work in a supporting role in a team environment with developers, testers, other analysts, and designers
  • Stay abreast of all Shaw’s Policies and Procedures across other Shaw Units and ensure these are being followed in the day to day activities while providing feedback on ways to improve such documents


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and effectively communicate internally and with clients
  • Comfortable working independently to achieve successful results with minimal guidance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly present analysis
  • Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Self-sufficient and driven to acquire the skills necessary to accomplish complex tasks
  • Thrives in a team environment with autonomy to complete assignments
  • Understanding of software systems from the user’s and technical perspective
  • Must work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints
  • Additional hours may be needed during peak times and for software releases
  • Prior experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational databases a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in customer support in banking/lending software or similar industry
