Employee Spotlight: Marcus Ebenhack, Lead Software Developer, COLLECTIONS
Education: Marcus graduated from Oklahoma State Technical with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in 1987.
Resume and Job Description: Marcus joined Shaw in January of 1990. He originally worked on STOPS. Does anybody remember that? If you do, we’re guessing you’re pretty old! Just kidding.
Marcus is currently a lead software developer and business analyst on the COLLECTIONS team. He’s always very involved in any projects that entail migrating existing COLLECTIONS customers from COBOL to the new DB platform version of COLLECTIONS.
Rave Review: Irma Lopez, Product Manager of COLLECTIONS, says “Marcus is always willing to help his teammates in any way possible and his support continues through to our clients. He gathers requirements and strategizes with his teammates to come up with the best solution and presents it to the client in a manner that is easily understood. Marcus has worked with many Cloud Services clients, applying release installations and creating SSIS packages. He is the backbone of getting our legacy clients upgraded to the COLLECTIONS/RECOVERY .NET platform. I know I can count on Marcus under any circumstance. He will stand by us when needed and I am delighted to have him on our team.”
Family and Interests: Marcus has two grown children; Jason and Holly, and five grandchildren. His wife Lori works as a booking agent for a Houston area mover. His daughter Bailey is a high school freshman and an avid ‘Katy Kat’ (that’s a rabid Katy Perry fan, for the uninitiated). She loves photo editing and ‘Instagramming’. His son Brendon is an eighth grader who plays baseball in the Pearland Little League. The All-Star team from his division went all the way to the Little League World Series National Final in Williamsburg, PA this past summer. Also, like most 13-year-old boys he’s a big video gamer.
Perspective: Marcus says: “Working at Shaw presents new challenges every day. I love the fact that we wear many hats and there truly NEVER is a dull moment. We’re a small company that does REALLY BIG things and I take great pride in being a part of that over the past 26 years. I enjoy the casual work environment and like to think I take my work seriously without taking myself too seriously. I value the relationships with both co-workers and customers that I’ve developed over the years. The people I’ve worked with over the years here at Shaw truly are, among the best and the brightest. Everyone is invested in everyone else’s success, the team atmosphere is terrific and we all make each other better.”
